Checkered Flag 200 is the premier membership group of the Petersen Automotive Museum with exclusive benefits for the dedicated automotive enthusiast including travel opportunities, visits to private collections, day tours and rallies, special events at the Museum, and more. Membership will provide you with a unique opportunity to expand your knowledge of the automobile through diverse activities and the sharing of expertise and experience among fellow members.
Checkered Flag 200 is named in recognition of the 200 members who established the group in 1994. Now comprised of over 400 members nationwide, CF 200 is an extremely active and personal group that continues to be of vital support to the Museum.

light breakfast, then travel to the Goodguys's 2nd Annual Hot Rod and Custom Car Show!

Annual Fun Drive
Take a drive in your favorite car! The course is over 100 kilometers long and takes about 2-1/2 hours to complete. You'll begin with a light breakfast and gathering at the Museum and end with a lovely buffet lunch reception in Pasadena. The rally will be timed and filled with questions to test your expertise! Prizes will be given at lunch for the highest scores!

Our annual gala is the benefit event attended each year not only by world renowned automobile collectors and enthusiasts, but also celebrities, our Corporate Partners, Museum members and our Board of Directors. All monies raised from the Gala fund the Petersen Automotive Museum’s world class exhibitions, diverse public education programs for children and adults, and the preservation and conservation of a collection of rare and historic automobiles.

Bastille Day Rally
Tour begins at the Museum and ends at Jim Hull’s Malibu ranch! The Bastille Day Rally dates back to before the 1994 Petersen Automotive Museum’s founding, when in 1978 Jim Hull organized his first “Car Party” on his lawn in Brentwood. He found that the combination of fun people, exotic cars parked on the grass, and good food and drink, made for easy conversation and new friendships! He decided that this car party should add a drive along the coastline and canyon roads of Malibu, and combine the Independence Day celebrations of the U.S. Fourth of July with the July 14 French Bastille Day, to form the Bastille Day Rally!

The Petersen Automotive Museum is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation, collection and interpretive study of the automobile and its influence on American life and culture, using Los Angeles as the prime example.
